Why I Don't Want To Be A Millionaire

So it begins! I made a video. It was a pretty steep learning curve, and I had to seriously embrace my old market trader persona for that air of confidence and slight mockney twang. But the video is live, and I'm proud of it. The message is real, the narrative supports the app's purpose, and it has a bit of swagger. This is just the starting gun firing, though, and the marathon has only just begun. Today, I recorded a piece to camera that will be uploaded soon. It's a serious piece about my intentions for the app.

I genuinely don't want to be a millionaire. I used to, once. Lottery fantasies regularly permeated my pre-sleep mind wanderings, but they were always slightly tainted by a guilty feeling and a fear of having what others didn't. It led me to feel like a victim of imagined crimes because I might have been wealth-signaling when I was just enjoying myself... This realization made me feel like charity or philanthropy would alleviate some of those thoughts. How could I be hated if I was giving away my wealth? Well, it's not enough, is it? Part of the problem is education. No one wants to be in debt, and when they are, the uphill battle feels impossible. Admitting there's a problem, then being brave enough to deal with it, is usually a very hard pill to swallow—especially when it feels like the journey is a very long solo one with no light at the end of a claustrophobic and suffocating tunnel. I speak from experience.

So, the Stuffrite Restore project is the only way I can feel like I benefit from wealth: by giving back. I don't want to just solve people's problems with money; people have to help themselves as well, and that begins with a bit of education and the right tools for the job. That's where Stuffrite comes in. A marketing budget for the people. Film the transformation, create critical mass online. Build a reputation by being the antithesis of regular corporate practices.
